A man in his 60s has died after a crash involving his motorbike and three cars, police have said.

The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway of the M60 motorway between junctions 15 and 16 near Salford at around 18:15 BST on Sunday.

Two of the three drivers have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force has appealed for anyone with video footage or information to contact them.

The incident led to a partial closure of the M60, with the motorway having been shut for several hours after the collision.

National Highways said one lane had been shut from junction 15 to junction 16 earlier, but had now fully re-opened.

The link road from the M61 was also closed but later re-opened as well.

The agency said long queues had built up during rush hour.
