Two brothers have been jailed after stealing tools worth thousands of pounds from vehicles in Coventry.
David McDonagh, 45, and Patrick McDonagh, 38, took part in a three-month spree, causing damage to vehicles totalling more than £42,000, West Midlands Police said.
At Warwick Crown Court last month, the pair, both of Wappenbury Close, Coventry, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit theft from motor vehicles.
They were each given a prison sentence of four years and eight months at the same court on 12 November.
Police said the brothers would target vans and other work vehicles in car parks across the city, drilling the locks to gain access between March and May this year.
Det Sgt Jay Aston said: "My team worked tirelessly throughout their investigation to put together a timeline of events and information to help charge the men responsible.
"Fortunately, we were able to identify some of the victims and reunite them with their stolen property, with a number of items recovered after the pair were arrested.
"Hopefully this sentence sends a clear message that this kind of crime will not be tolerated in Coventry."
