Police have been given increased powers to stop and search people in Rugby over concerns about "individuals carrying weapons in the area".
Warwickshire Police operated under Section 60 powers in the town on Tuesday afternoon, with the measure remaining in place until "the concerns cease".
The Section 60 notice allows officers to stop and search any person or vehicle to look for offensive weapons.
The force said it did not believe there was any wider threat to the public.
