Dispersal order issued over antisocial behaviour

The area in Telford includes two roads, a skate park, a community centre and a church

Increased antisocial behaviour in Telford has led to a dispersal order being imposed.
The 48-hour order in the Sutton Hill area was effective from 08:00 BST and will remain in force until 08:00 on Friday, West Mercia Police said.
It gives police extra powers to order people to leave the town centre if their behaviour is deemed antisocial, not just when crime or disorder is being committed but also when it is thought likely to occur.
The area affected includes Southgate and Stonedale roads, as well as Sutton Hill Play and Skate Park, the Hub on the Hill community centre and the church.
Sgt Stuart Le'Clere, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "The aim of the order is to prevent the minority from ruining it for the majority trying to go about their normal business in peace and for us to provide reassurance."
He urged people not to be alarmed by extra police in the area, saying "they are there to help".
"Please approach the officers if you need to and they will happily assist in any way they can," he added.
