Murder arrest after woman found dead in house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman at a house.

Hampshire Constabulary said it was called to reports that a woman aged in her 50s had died in a property in Frobisher Grove, Fareham, at 11:58 BST on Monday. Her family has been informed.

A man, 43, from Fareham, was arrested and has been released on bail until 18 January.

Det Insp Ross Toms said there will be an increased police presence in the area while investigations continue.

"I want to thank the local residents for their understanding while officers carried out enquiries at the address," he said.

Anyone with any information about the circumstances that led to the woman's death is asked to get in touch with police.
