A vast pile of rubbish and scrap metal left dumped in the driveway of a home is under investigation after complaints from neighbours.

The heap - which includes kitchen appliances, clothes, bikes and garden furniture - is outside a house in Gleave Crescent in the Everton area of Liverpool.

Photographs show vans laden with bathtubs, lawnmowers and chairs arriving and departing.

Liverpool City Council said there was an ongoing investigation and it would be "communicating with the affected residents accordingly".

The council received complaints in June and local councillors have raised the issue, while officers have also visited the house to speak with the owner.

It is understood the council is exploring whether it can issue a community protection notice (CPN) against the householder.

CPNs can be issued by councils, police officers and police community support officers against people suspected of antisocial behaviour.

The BBC has contacted the man believed to live in the property, but is yet to receive a response.
