Long A30 delays after fire destroys vehicle

A vehicle has been destroyed in a fire which has caused long delays on a major Devon road.
Devon and Somerset Fire Service said crews were called to the westbound A30 near Whiddon Down at about 14:20 GMT on Monday to tackle a blaze which "completely destroyed" a vehicle.
National Highways said on X, external the road was closed between the junctions with the A377 near Exeter and A382 in Okehampton while the incident was dealt with.
The post added one lane reopened at 18:20, but delays of more than 90 minutes were being reported on the A30 before the road fully reopened at 19:45.
Firefighters said the cause of the incident was believed to be accidental.
