Equipment from a hairdresser's has been found dumped on a grass verge in Lincolnshire.

South Holland District Council (SHDC) said the waste, which includes a chair, was found by a farmer on South Drove at Spalding Common on 24 July.

It has been cleared by the council, which is now asking the public to help identify the culprit.

Councillor Anthony Casson, portfolio holder for public protection at SHDC, said incidents of fly-tipping "winds me up".

"It costs the council an awful lot of money to go and collect them," he said.

Mr Casson said the authority had increased the level of fines for fly-tipping to £400 and urged the public to report incidents.

He added the council was "doing everything possible to catch people and prosecute people".

"It's not all local people," he said.

"People come from the surrounding area, outside South Holland in some cases, and get rid of their rubbish down the back roads."
