Two men have appeared in court accused of attempted murder following disorder in Walsall last month.

Four men were taken to hospital with injuries following reports of fighting and a gun being fired at a car in Reedswood Lane, Birchills, at about midnight on 31 July, West Midlands Police said.

Amar Shazad, 36, and Hezar Iyaiz, 20, both face five counts of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to the trouble.

The pair were remanded in custody by magistrates in Wolverhampton to appear at the city's crown court on 18 September.

A man had already been charged and several arrests made over the disorder, the force said.
