Woman killed in crash on A96 near airport named

A woman who died following a crash on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road has been named by police.
Alison Campbell, 65, from Caithness, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, near Inverness Airport, on Tuesday afternoon.
She was a passenger in a red Vauxhall Insignia car which was involved in the collision along with a white Ford Transit Tipper van at about 15:30.
The driver of the car, a 69-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital, where his condition has been described as critical. The driver of the van was uninjured.
Police Scotland said inquiries to establish the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
Sgt Kate Finlayson said: "Our thoughts are with Alison's family and friends at this difficult time.
"I'd like to thank everyone who has provided information so far and ask anyone else who saw what happened or has dash-cam footage to come forward."
