Firefighters are appealing for the return of a "vital piece of kit" that was removed while they were battling a heath fire in Dorset.

Crews from four stations spent more than three hours tackling the blaze off Furzelands Road, Three Legged Cross, on Monday afternoon.

But when one of the crews, from Verwood, returned to Joys Road to retrieve equipment left in place to refill their appliance with water, it had disappeared.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue appealed for information and said it had reported the incident to Dorset Police.
