A teenager is waiting to be sentenced after admitting wounding and false imprisonment during an incident at a high school.
No detail about the boy's crimes was aired in court, but police said there had been an "incident" involving a knife at Manshead Academy in Caddington, Bedfordshire, in May.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also admitted making threats with a knife and entered guilty pleas at Luton Crown Court on Tuesday.
Judge Geoffrey Payne said he wanted to know more about the boy's background and adjourned sentencing until 19 September.
After the hearing, a Bedfordshire Police spokesman said officers had been called to the school on Friday, 2 May to reports of a pupil in possession of a knife.
The force said another student and a member of staff had suffered minor injuries.
