A man who led police on a chase through Warwickshire and Leicestershire while driving at times over 155mph (250kph) has been jailed.

Patrick Connors, from Queensferry, in Flintshire, led officers on a pursuit along the M1 and M69 after failing to stop in February, Warwickshire Police said.

They had tried to pull him over for failing to appear in court in 2024 for fraud offences in Wrexham.

The 45-year-old was jailed for three years and was banned from driving for 60 months at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday.

Driving a BMW 5 Series, Connors ran a red light, brake checked and tried to ram a police car during the chase, said police, who shared footage, external.

When he finally stopped, he was arrested after a failed attempt to escape on foot across the live carriageway, the force added.

He also gave officers false details, having previously used up to 17 aliases.

Connors was later charged and pleaded guilty to acquiring criminal property, dangerous driving and failure to stop.
