Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder following a reported hit and run, police have said.

Officers were called at 10:25 GMT on Tuesday to Fore Street, Callington, Cornwall, where two men had serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Police said officers carried out inquiries in the area and found the car that had left the scene.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, failing to stop after an accident, driving dangerously, driving while unfit through drink. He remains in police custody.
