Overnight A63 closures during safety upgrades
- Published
Overnight closures will be in place on the A63 in East Yorkshire during safety upgrades.
National Highways will replace the safety barrier and upgrade the lighting between South Cave and North Ferriby.
The closures will alternate on the east and westbound carriageways on weeknights between 20:00 and 06:00 BST from Monday.
Work is scheduled to last until spring 2025 and a 40mph speed limit will be implemented as the scheme progresses.
Closures will take place Monday to Friday in these directions:
Week commencing 15 July: Westbound
Week commencing 22 July: Eastbound
Week commencing 29 July: Westbound
For four weeks from 5 August, there will be weeknight closures on the eastbound carriageway.
National Highways said the road would not be fully closed in both directions at the same time during the improvements to minimise disruption.
Average speed cameras will be installed with signed diversions in place as the scheme progresses in July.
From 12 August, the A63 Elloughton footbridge will undergo resurfacing, with the pedestrian route closed over the bridge for two weeks.
An alternative route for pedestrians will be in place during this time.
