Man charged over attack outside shopping precinct

A man has been charged following an attack that left the victim with serious head injuries.
It happened outside Vange Riverview Centre in Basildon shortly before 18:00 BST on 4 May.
The injured man remains in hospital in a critical condition, Essex Police said.
A 33-year-old man from the town has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and offering to supply Class A drugs. He is due to appear before magistrates in Chelmsford on Monday.
A 41-year-old man from Basildon, arrested on Tuesday in connection with the investigation, has been released on bail until 5 August.
