An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman who failed to turn up to court for allegedly owning a dog which bit a police officer and another person.
Jacqueline Brown, 64, from Bedale, failed to appear at York Magistrates' Court on Tuesday after being charged with having a dog that was dangerously out of control and causing injury.
Ms Brown will now have to turn herself in at a court or a police station, where she will then be arrested.
North Yorkshire Police said they were called to reports of a man in his 60s being bitten by an Alsatian-type dog in Market Place, Bedale, while making his way home from a pub at 22:50 BST on 1 August.
The man and the officer were treated in hospital at the time for bite wounds to their legs.
The dog initially ran away from the scene of the attack, but it was tracked down later in the night.
A police firearms officer then shot the dog dead due to public safety concerns.
