A property on Brock Road has been deemed safe, police have said after receiving inquiries about it.

Guernsey Police said officers undertook an operation at the property on 7 June which was suspected of containing substances and chemicals which could have been used to make "explosives".

Officers said they would like to "reassure the community that the entire scene was made safe on the day on the operation".

"When the scene was cleared, it was entirely sterile and stable, and any substances which presented any kind of risk were taken away and destroyed," Guernsey Police said.

It added specialists from the UK assisted officers in entering the property to assess what risk, if any, the substances presented, and then to safely clear the property.

Police said the operation was carried out "safely and without incident".
