Photos showing village life are being exhibited as part of an arts festival.

The photos brought together to celebrate 10 years of Stogursey Arts Festival were commissioned to capture life in the Somerset village.

The Stogursey Arts Trust said they got the idea for the exhibition when someone presented them with old postcard images of the village.

"The images consisted of street views, houses and buildings of local interest, but there was little or no evidence of the people,"said Mike Bradshaw from the trust.

The group decided to revisit some of the places depicted in the postcards and began to look for new images that told the story of village life today.

With the advantage of modern digital cameras and phones, the photos cover many aspects from people, wildlife, events, the village itself and local landscape.

"This contemporary archive will now be continuously updated," Mr Bradshaw added.

"It will form a record to capture new memories of the village for residents of all ages and also forms a positive talking memory experience for those who live here and suffer from dementia."

The art festival runs until 29 September in the Jubilee Rooms.
