The Blossoms have announced they will play a five-night residency in Manchester in November.

Five Nights In Manchester will see the homegrown indie rock band play five gigs in five different venues across the city.

The residency will kick off at the Manchester Academy on 19 November, followed by dates at the O2 Ritz, Albert Hall, O2Victoria Warehouse and the O2 Apollo over the next four consecutive nights.

The Stockport quintet - comprised of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock - billed the series of concerts as "a love letter of shows to the city".

A statement said the band "wanted to do something special with the Manchester shows for this run of gigs".

"We played each one of these venues on our way up" and wanted to return to "these venues and remember where everything started for us", they said.

"We can’t wait", the statement concluded.

Tickets for individual gigs will go on sale on Wednesday.

The Blossoms recently played their biggest ever concert at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester, and are due to release their fifth studio album, Gary, on Friday.
