Major road reopens following serious collision

Part of a major road which was closed for several hours has reopened following a serious collision.

Highways East said, external at about 04:06 BST the A1 in Bedfordshire was closed at in both directions between the A421 at Black Cat and the A428 at St Neots due to a Bedfordshire Police led incident.

It said a serious collision had happened in the early hours of the morning and a police investigation was under way.

At about 11:43, external it said the scene of the collision had been cleared and the road was now fully reopened.
