Case against woman accused of threats is dropped

Nichola Priestley claimed she had been hacked when she appeared at Kirklees Magistrates' Court in May

A woman who allegedly threatened to blow up a man's house has had charges against her dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Nichola Priestley, 46, of Mytholm Close, Hebden Bridge, denied sending threatening communications when she appeared at Kirklees Magistrates' Court on 27 May and the case was sent to Leeds Crown Court.
The business development strategist claimed her email address had been hacked after being accused of sending an email threatening to kill the man in July 2023.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokesperson said on Tuesday that there was "not enough evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction".
They said: "We have a duty to keep all charged cases under review and this case was discontinued because there was not enough evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.
"We have written to the complainant to explain our decision in detail and informed them of their rights under our Victims' Right to Review scheme."
