Murder arrest as man, 61, found dead at house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead at a property in Greater Manchester.

The 61-year-old's body was found at about 01:20 BST at a house on Counthill Road in Oldham.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of murder, and are holding him in custody for questioning.

A spokeswoman for the force said officers were called to the property following reports of an altercation.

GMP detectives remain at the property as they continue to make enquiries.

The 61-year-old man's family were receiving support from specialist officers, she added.
