A man has died after being hit by a car in East Sussex, police have said.

The pedestrian, 47, was treated by paramedics on Eridge Road in Crowborough but was confirmed dead at the scene, Sussex Police said.

The driver of a grey MG4, a 35-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail while enquiries continue, said the force.
