Icy roads warning issued by Isle of Man Met Office

Forecasters said the A18 Mountain Road is particularly at risk of icy conditions
- Published
Drivers have been warned of a risk of icy road conditions across the Isle of Man later, with temperatures set to plummet after sunset.
Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice from 18:00 GMT until 10:00 on Wednesday.
Areas most at risk include the A18 Mountain Road and the central valley, with eastern, southern and central roads also likely to be affected.
With air temperatures set to fall close to 0C (32F), ice could form on surfaces.
Showers on Tuesday, along with the continued run-off of water on to some roads following previous heavy rain, also mean there is a risk of wet or damp areas freezing over.
With the cold snap expected to continue, forecasters said the yellow weather warning may need to be extended.
