Grammy Award winners Kings of Leon have been announced as the headline act for the opening night at Lancashire's Lytham Festival in 2025.

The American rock band will open the event on 2 July.

Organiser Peter Taylor said it comes after years of trying to get the group to play at the festival.

"We're really excited that we've finally got them to agree," he said.

Other acts already announced include singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette and actor Justin Timberlake, as well as bands Simple Minds and Texas.

Mr Taylor, who is co-founder of the festival, said more acts will be revealed in the coming weeks.
