A cyclist has died after a collision with a lorry in north Belfast on Thursday.

Police received a report of the incident shortly before 07:50 GMT.

It happened in the Clifton Street area.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Both slips on and off the Westlink and Clifton Street between Carlisle Circus and North Queen Street remain closed.

Two emergency crews were dispatched alongside a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service crew by car, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to get in touch.
