Stretch of M11 closed after serious crash

Drivers are being warned of delays after a crash on the M11

A section of the M11 has been closed in both directions after a four-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to a section of road between junction 11 and junction 12 northbound at about 04:30 BST.

Firefighters said a person had to be released from their vehicle and was left in the care of the ambulance service.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and a Cambridgeshire Police investigation was under way.

National Highways warned drivers that the road could be closed until the afternoon.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews arrived back at their stations by about 06:00.
