Stretch of M11 closed after serious crash

Drivers were warned of delays after the crash on the M11

A section of the M11 was closed in both directions after a four-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to a section of road between junction 11 and junction 12 northbound near Cambridge at about 04:30 BST.

Firefighters said a person had to be released from their vehicle and was left in the care of the ambulance service.

The road was reopened at about 16:30, although a lane remained closed in both directions to allow for repair work.

Cambridgeshire Police said an investigation was under way.
