A blank wall at a children's hospice in Surrey has been transformed into a mural by art students.

The project is a collaboration between Shooting Star Children's Hospices and students from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham.

The artwork now brightens the Guildford hospice, Christopher's, which supports children with life-limiting conditions.

The chosen piece, created by students On Ruengworadakul and Reshma Vattackal Suresh, was a favourite of the hospice's care team for its "vibrant and engaging" style. It took four days to complete.

Lucy Hooper, social media and content officer at Shooting Star, said they were "delighted" to work with the students for the "beautiful piece".

"We're so grateful to On and Reshma for their hard work, and it's lovely to see the enjoyment it's already bringing," she said.

Tom Walker, programme director for Illustration and Journalism at UCA, said: "The mural reflects the warmth, care, and imagination that Shooting Star brings to the lives of children and families facing the most challenging circumstances."

Mr Walker added the students had an opportunity to "make a genuine impact through their art".
