Two teenagers have been told they will face no further action after a vehicle hit striking workers outside a nuclear facility.

Cumbria Police said a Polaris Ranger off-road vehicle struck two people taking part in industrial action at the Calder Gate entrance to Sellafield in Cumbria on Wednesday.

A 16-year-old boy and 19-year-old man were arrested at the time, but would face no further action, police said.

Two other men, brothers Craig Fawcett, 50 and from Seascale, and Albert Darren Fawcett, 52, of Gosforth, appeared in court last week, where they denied causing serious injury by dangerous driving and dangerous driving respectively.

The picket line was linked to strike action by construction staff employed by contractors at the nuclear site.

A 55-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was in a stable condition in hospital, the force previously said.

Another man was less seriously hurt at the time.

The Fawcett brothers are due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court next month.
