Driver dies after being trapped by recovery truck

A 23-year-old man from the Plymouth area has died after becoming trapped under a recovery truck, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man was trapped under the white Renault recovery vehicle he had been driving on North Walk Hill in Lynton, Devon, at about 13:15 GMT on Saturday.

Police said the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the scene and reopened in the early hours of Sunday.

They said the driver's next of kin had been informed and asked for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
