Police are searching for a man charged with offences in connection with widespread disorder which took place in Leeds last summer after he failed to turn up at court.

Trouble flared in the Harehills area when hundreds of people gathered on the streets for several hours on 18 and 19 July.

Carlos Mihai, 24, of Sutherland Mount, Leeds, had been charged with arson and violent disorder allegedly committed on the evening of the 18 July, and was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier.

A warrant has since been issued for his arrest.

West Yorkshire Police said more than 40 arrests had so far been made following the disorder, with 15 people charged and five sentenced.
