The Pier House in Charlestown has reopened its doors to customers, 18 months after a devastating fire.

The pub has been closed since a blaze severely damaged the 19th Century building in January 2023, forcing guests to be evacuated from the site.

The Pier House - owned by St Austell Brewery - has since undergone major restoration work, costing millions of pounds.

The owners said the fire was caused by an electrical fault.

St Austell Brewery said sensitive renovations have been under way since the autumn to restore the pub to its "former glory".

Paul Harvey, general manager of the Pier House, said: "We’ve sensitively shown off the history of the building, showcasing the grandeur of the structure and how it’s been used throughout the years."

The neighbouring Harbour Beer House, also damaged in the fire, reopened last week.
