Cyclist cleared over crash before pensioner's death

A cyclist has been cleared of causing bodily harm to an 81-year-old woman who died nearly two weeks after she was hit by his bike on a towpath.
Polly Friedhoff died in hospital 12 days after she was struck on the River Thames towpath near Iffley Lock, Oxford, on 20 November 2022.
Edward Bressan, 56, of Newton Road, Oxford, denied causing bodily harm by wanton or furious driving.
He was found not guilty by a jury following a trial at Oxford Crown Court.
The prosecution alleged Mr Bressan had been riding in a “reckless” way.
But Kuljeet Dobe, defending, said he was travelling at a pace that was “little more than walking speed”.
