A seven-year-old girl's artwork will be featured on Lancashire police's Christmas card after she won a festive competition.

Phoebe was picked out of 1,274 children who entered the annual Chief Constable's Christmas card art competition.

It means the youngster's artwork will be on the Christmas e-card which is sent to more than 5,000 officers and staff members.

Phoebe also won £150 worth of books for her primary school in Preston.

Schoolchildren across the county were asked to design a police themed Christmas image in a template of a bauble with a selection printed and hung on the tree in headquarters reception.

Chief Constable, Sacha Hatchett, said "We have been blown away by the response and I'm really impressed by the talent and creativity the young people throughout the county have."

Phoebe's school said she was "really proud of herself, as are we at school."

Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, chose Amira, nine, as the second winner, and there were also runner ups, Ava, six, and Willow, eight.
