Man arrested after car had fake police sirens

A man pulled over by officers while driving a hire car fitted with homemade police lights and sirens has been arrested.

Merseyside Police said a black Mercedes car was captured on CCTV "driving in a dangerous manner" around Everton, Liverpool on Saturday.

The driver was stopped by police on Breckfield Road South at about 19:45 BST, police said.

Full blue lights and klaxons were found fitted on the car's dashboard.

A 36-year-old man from Everton was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving

Police said the vehicle had been seized and the driver had been released under investigation.
