A council has promised to fix an incorrect road marking at a city centre roundabout, which directs drivers towards a town centre.

Colchester was granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II in May 2022.

However, a freshly painted road marking still calling it a town was spotted at a junction on Balkerne Hill.

Essex County Council said it would be fixed on Thursday night, with a spokesperson calling it "an unfortunate oversight".
