Police vehicle on emergency call crashes into car

Two people have been injured after a police car crashed into a vehicle while responding to an emergency call.

It hit a green Dacia, which had four people inside, in Norton Road, Stockton, at about 19:20 BST on Wednesday.

Two of the passengers were taken to hospital and their injures are not believed to be serious, Cleveland Police said. Nobody else was injured.

The force has urged anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash cam footage to get in touch.

Two officers were travelling in the police car.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been approached for comment.
