BBC goes inside estates where residents say crime has made life brutal

The BBC has visited communities in Middlesbrough, where people say that crime is their top election issue.

Ed Thomas spent three days there speaking to people, and found that the impact of drugs and knife crime was at the forefront of their minds.

“Whoever wins the next election needs to step up to the mark, this cannot continue,” one man told him.
