Arrests after report of masked group carrying knives

A man and three teenagers were arrested after three weapons were seized in a city centre.

Police said they were called to reports of a masked group carrying knives near Old Market Square, in Nottingham, at about 13:40 BST on Friday.

The weapons - two machetes and a pocket knife - were all recovered after a search of the road, as well as cannabis, cash and a burner-style phone.

A 21-year-old man, and three boys - aged between 14 and 16 - were all arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife in a public place.

They were also arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Police have asked anyone with information to come forward as inquiries are ongoing.
