Club's striking gesture to highlight wildlife loss

Wolverhampton Wanderers removed the iconic wolf from its club crest to mark World Wildlife Day.
To coincide with the WWF campaign, the club ditched the animal on Sunday to highlight what it called a dramatic loss of biodiversity.
The Premier League side described the campaign as a poignant one which demonstrated how humans would miss the natural world amid wildlife loss.
Russell Jones, Wolves' general manager for marketing and commercial growth, said the club had supported the day for the past four years.
"The wolf continues to be an endangered animal in many parts of the world so it is an opportunity to raise awareness for what the world might look like without animals – something that is a sad possibility if action isn't taken," he said.
"We have been really proud to see Wolves stand alongside some of the world's biggest companies in backing this campaign over the last four years and we continue to support WWF’s work in reversing our human impact on nature."
