Bus provider announces changes to city routes

A bus firm has announced a series of changes to routes around Derby.
Arriva said passengers need to be aware of its amended timetables from 31 August.
Affected routes are the 1A/1B/1C, 4, 5/5A/5S, 6, 7, 8, X38 and The Wyvern.
A spokesperson said: “We’re making changes to some of our services in Derby to improve our services and keep buses running on time.”
Among the key changes, the 6 service from Derby to Sunny Hill and Sinfin will have a new route to replace the Littleover 5/5A service through Sunny Hill from Monday to Saturday, to create a new link to Sinfin Asda.
The 5/5A will now run along Stenson Road and the evening timetable changed to accommodate shift times at Royal Derby Hospital, although the 5S route will remain serving Sunny Hill on Sundays.
The 1B service will now provide a service to Boulton Moor and Buttercup Leys via Alvaston village.
The 1A/1C routes will be “simplified” by Arriva to run directly along London Road, with the evening timetable changed to tie in better with Derby Railway Station arrivals from London, Birmingham and Leeds.
The X38 Derby to Burton service will now pick up from Derby Bus Station as well as Victoria Street, but passengers will no longer be able to use Trent Barton tickets on board.
The 7 Derby to Sinfin bus will run later into the evening, while journeys on the 4 Derby to Alvaston will extend to Derby Commercial Park.
