Power works to close busy road for five weeks

Leicester Lane, Enderby, is set to shut to vehicles next week
- Published
Drivers are being warned of weeks of traffic restrictions along a busy Leicestershire road.
The five-week closure on Leicester Lane, at Enderby, will come into force on Tuesday, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
Leicestershire County Council, the local highways authority, said the closure was needed on safety grounds while National Grid carried out a “reinforcement scheme” in the area.
A 1.5 mile (2.5km) stretch will be off-limits to traffic between Blaby Road and Dorsey Way.
An alternate route for drivers will take them out of Enderby via Blaby Road and St Johns.
