Twenty jobs at a battery factory in Thurso have been saved after it was taken over by a Dutch company.

AMTE Power, which had plans for a new facility in Dundee, went into administration earlier this month after running into financial difficulties.

The Thurso factory makes lithium ion batteries for high performance cars and heavy goods vehicles.

A deal with LionVolt has secured the Caithness jobs, but 15 AMTE employees at Milton, near Oxford, have been made redundant.
