A fire in an abandoned factory in Kingswood is thought to have started accidentally, police have said.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) was called to the former Lucas Ingredients factory, near Bristol, at about 05:45 BST. Moravian Road was closed in both directions while crews from Kingswood, Temple, Hicks Gate, Southmead, Bedminster and Portishead extinguished the fire.

Previously the fire service said they thought it was a possible case of arson, but police officers have since confirmed that was not the cause.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries at the building have now been completed and the fire has been determined to have started accidentally."
