Woodville straddles the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border

  • Published

Plans to build 92 homes in a village on the border between Leicestershire and Derbyshire have been withdrawn.

An application to construct the buildings - about 80% of which were to be affordable housing - off Hepworth Road in Woodville was submitted to North West Leicestershire District Council in May last year.

In the design and access statement, developers Pegasus Group said the site would also include "a network of attractive streets and spaces", but the bid was opposed by some local residents.

The withdrawal was confirmed in a letter released by the council on Monday.
