A project to introduce extended opening hours at four libraries in Surrey has been rolled out.

The Super Access scheme has been introduced for users in Egham, Camberley, Dorking and Horley.

Membership allows library entry outside normal opening hours and access to most services even when staff are not present.

A Surrey County Council (SCC) spokesperson said the expansion marks "a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing library access and services across the county".

Surrey library users need to upgrade their membership to participate in the scheme, according to SCC.

After an introduction to the scheme members will be able to manage chosen books with self-service kiosks, access free wi-fi and library computers, as well as using printers and photocopiers.

The SCC spokesperson said the scheme would "enable residents to use the library at a time that suits them".
