Police to escort demolition equipment through town
- Published
Demolition equipment is being escorted through a town in Surrey by police, which could lead to disruptions.
Surrey Police said the escort will start from Bridge Street in Leatherhead at about 07:45 GMT on Sunday and will no longer be needed once it leaves the town.
It will travel along Bridge Street and North Street before entering Bull Hill and Kingston Road against the normal flow of the one-way system.
The one-way system will be closed to all vehicles during this time.
The equipment needs a police escort as there are bridges restricting its route.
Surrey Police, which has not specified when the equipment is expected to leave the town, said it is hoping to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.
