Suspicious object under car was tracking device

Bank Plain, Norwich, was cordoned off as bomb disposal experts checked a car

Police investigating an incident that saw bomb disposal experts cordon off a city centre street have revealed that a tracking device was the cause.
Emergency services were called to Bank Plain, Norwich, at about 15:30 BST last Thursday after reports of a suspicious device under a car.
Two loud bangs were heard that evening as the Army's bomb squad made the device safe, and the road remained closed until early the next day.
A stalking investigation has now been launched.
A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said: "Inquiries have since established that the device was not dangerous and there is no wider risk to the public.
"It is believed to have been a tracking device and this is now being investigated as a stalking offence."
