Dozens of jobs as new venue prepares to open

Recruitment is under way for staff at a major new Derby venue.
The 3,500-capacity Becketwell Live arena will be used for music, comedy and conferences and is due to open in the spring.
ASM Global, the entertainment operator running the venue, aims to recruit 130 people in a mixture of full and part-time roles, as well as permanent and temporary positions.
Kate Jones, who is leading the recruitment, said some positions had been filled and that it was currently recruiting for a security manager, marketing manager, and sales and box office staff, with about 100 new positions due to go live in the new year.
Miss Jones, talent acquisition manager for ASM Global, said: "We are envisaging 30 permanent positions on site, with an additional events team in place, depending on the events at the arena.
"We don't take possession of the building until the turn of the year so it is a phased approach to recruitment.
"We will probably be recruiting for 100-plus roles in between February and April time. They will be working the events – working our bars, our conferencing and banqueting spaces.
"We will have opportunities in our ticketing department, as well as security opportunities."
She added: "In terms of some of our part-time roles, we work around the needs of the candidates so those contracts will be a lot shorter and they are linked to the events we have on."
Vacancies will be published on ASM Global website, and Becketwell Live has a "talent bank" in which people can register their interest.
